Not only pizza is tasty. It is healthy too! So, what are you waiting for? Go, eat, repeat. Ms Chelsey Amer, a dietitian based in New York, claims that pizza is actually a more balanced breakfast than a bowl of cereal.
Speaking to ABC News , she said: “Surprisingly, pizza can be a more balanced breakfast option than many sugar-filled breakfast cereals.
“A slice of plain cheese pizza contains a balance of carbs, protein, and fat.
“A bowl of sugary cereal with low fat milk is largely sugar and extremely carb-heavy.”
Before you take this to mean that you should grab a slice of pizza before work every morning, Ms Amer explained that’s probably not wise.
She added that she is ‘not recommending pizza as an everyday breakfast’, but is urging people to ‘focus on a balance of high fibre carbohydrates, lean protein, and healthy fast to stay full throughout the morning.’
If you’re puzzled by which breakfast cereal to go for, the NHS advises looking out for cereals containing wholegrain.
Speaking to the NHS, dietician Azmina Govindji explained: “Avoid always going for the same brand, as manufacturers regularly modify their recipes.
“Try looking at the nutrition label, and compare brands so you opt for the healthier version.”
